I have dedicated my time recounting the events I have experienced with Holmes. These events are, to a varying degree, both gruesome and astounding. Time after time, I am astounded at Holmes’ abilities to solve cases. Unfortunately, those moments are also tainted with gruesome deaths and disappearances. Many of those moments have been caused by the infamous Professor Moriarty.
Moriarty did not always work alone. Sometimes, we would come across his work that had been assisted by Colonel Moran. No matter if he worked alone or with help, he was a very sadistic man. Holmes believed him to be the mastermind behind all of the criminal activity in London. Indeed, later on, it was discovered that he, in fact, had many criminals under his control.
Holmes spent much of his time trying to bring Moriarty to justice. This meant that we spent much of our time at crime scenes created at the hands of Moriarty or one of his many companions.
While I have never had the pleasure of meeting Moriarty face-to-face, Holmes has, on occasion, met the man behind the murders. I have no interest in meeting him. I deduce the information about him through what Holmes presents to me. That is enough to stave my curiosity.
Alas, the wealth of information that I have on the murders by Moriarty has provided me with another book. It is unfortunate that I must present you these murder cases for you to solve. I hope that the information herein will be of use to anybody who is unfortunate enough to face a man much like Moriarty. All I ask is that the knowledge found within is used for good.
